Role description: The Labour Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring the organisation fully complies with employment legislation, labour standards, workforce regulations, and internal policies. This role oversees compliance across the supply chain and workforce operations, manages audits, and supports senior leadership in maintaining high ethical and legal standards relating to labour practices. You’ll play a key role delivering some of our biggest data centre construction projects throughout the UK and Europe. There will be travel to project locations required. (11/3 day rotation or Relocation) Role and Responsibilities Regulatory & Legal Compliance Monitor and interpret labour laws, employment regulations, working time rules, wage standards, and industry-specific labour requirements. Ensure policies, contracts, and HR practices comply with all statutory obligations. Advise leadership and operational teams on labour compliance issues and regulatory changes. Audits & Monitoring Plan and conduct internal labour compliance audits across operations and suppliers. Identify non-compliance areas and recommend corrective actions. Maintain records of all audits, findings, and remediation plans. Policy Development & Implementation Implement labour compliance policies, procedures, and frameworks. Ensure consistent and fair application of labour-related policies across the organisation. Supply Chain & Contractor Compliance Evaluate supplier and contractor adherence to labour standards, including right-to-work, health and safety, and ethical employment practices. Manage third‑party assessments and due diligence processes. Support supplier improvement plans and escalate issues where necessary. Employee Relations & Workforce Management Provide guidance on labour issues such as working conditions, overtime, grievances, and disciplinary procedures. Partner with HR and operations to resolve labour compliance concerns. Support investigations into workforce-related complaints or incidents. Training & Awareness Deliver training sessions to managers and staff on labour laws, ethical practices, and labour rights. Create awareness materials to reinforce compliant working environments. Reporting & Documentation Prepare reports for senior management on compliance status, risks, and corrective actions. Maintain detailed and secure documentation of audits, incidents, and workforce records. Qualifications & Experience: Essential Strong knowledge of employment law, labour regulations, and ethical labour standards. Experience in labour compliance, HR compliance, or workforce auditing. Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem‑solving skills. Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities. High attention to detail and strong ethical judgement. Degree in Human Resources, Law, Business, or a related field. Time served experience in labour compliance, HR, workforce planning, or risk management roles Desirable Experience in supply chain labour compliance or contractor management. Certification in HR, employment law, compliance, or ethical labour practice. Experience in sectors with regulated labour practices (e.g., construction, manufacturing, logistics, facilities management). Why Arcadis?
