 
        
        Zenith People are working with our client who are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to oversee the maintenance and performance of manufacturing and equipment within a busy production environment. The main purpose of the role is to ensure operational efficiency, equipment reliability, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will report directly to the senior leadership team and play a key role within the business.
Duties & Responsibilities
 * Conduct routine servicing, troubleshooting, and repairs on production machinery, to maintain peak performance.
 * Design and implement maintenance schedules, perform regular inspections, and address potential issues to prevent equipment failures and ensure uninterrupted operations.
 * Respond quickly to breakdowns, diagnose faults accurately, and carry out timely repairs to minimize downtime.
 * Maintain detailed maintenance logs, generate performance reports, and document all repairs and inspections. Escalate any quality deviations to the appropriate teams.
 * Training other team members on safe equipment operation and contribute to their understanding of machinery capabilities and limitations.
 * Manage inventory and upkeep of tooling and change parts, recommend replacements when needed, and maintain accurate records to support operational efficiency.
 * Uphold safety protocols during all maintenance activities, identify and mitigate risks, ensure SOP adherence, and maintain equipment logbooks to support quality assurance.
Requirements
 * Education: Apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering – Qualified up to NVQ Level 3 preferably with a BTEC/ONC or equivalent
 * Experience: 3+ years in a manufacturing maintenance role.
 * Strong skills in mechanical and pneumatic systems, with practical knowledge of electrical engineering including single-phase, three-phase, and servo motors, as well as optical and proximity sensors.
 * Ability to assist in the setup and optimization of automated machinery
 * Excellent analytical skills for diagnosing and resolving equipment issues.
 * Clear and effective communicator

 * Strong adherence to health and safety regulations and procedures.
Desirable Experience
 * Electrical fault-finding proficiency
 * Familiarity with health and safety best practices
 * Exposure to lean manufacturing methodologies
