About The School Haywards Farm School is set in a rural area of West Berkshire, surrounded by nature and countryside, offering a caring and supportive environment where children with a range of needs, including EBSA, anxiety, autism, ADHD and trauma, are helped to learn and thrive. Underpinned by our core values of safety, belonging and aspiration, our dedicated team of teachers, teaching assistants and therapists takes a holistic approach, getting to know each child as an individual and building their education around who they are. The Role Haywards Farm School is looking for a passionate KS1/KS2 Teacher to join our small, nurturing school. This is not a typical classroom role. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons across KS1 and KS2, adapted to meet each child where they are Build strong, trusting relationships that support emotional regulation and readiness to learn Use trauma-informed and attachment-aware practices as the foundation of your classroom approach Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, support staff, and external professionals Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress — both academic and social Create a positive, inclusive classroom culture rooted in wellbeing and resilience You Will Ideally Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Experience teaching within KS1 and/or KS2 A solid understanding of the national curriculum A genuine commitment to inclusive education and supporting pupils with additional needs Patience, empathy, and resilience in your approach Openness to developing your practice around therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches Strong communication skills with colleagues and families, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team Working Pattern And Benefits Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.00pm, with minimal after-hours commitments Friday afternoons are CPD time with no students on site, plus 10 INSET days across the year Therapeutic reflection and twice-daily briefings to support strong practice and consistency Regular offsite outdoor learning and enrichment sessions Hot lunch cooked on site every day Opportunities to collaborate across West Berkshire and with our partnership school, sharing expertise and best practice Life insurance (death in service) – 4x basic annual salary Health cash plan (Health Shield) (after probation/eligibility applies) Training and development – induction and mandatory training, plus CPD, therapeutic support and further qualifications Free holiday accommodation – company holiday home on south coast Discounts – Blue Light Card local partner discounts Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) – free, confidential 24/7 support helpline Company pension with award winning provider and enhanced employer contributions Company sick pay scheme available after 6 months’ service Electric car scheme Cycle to Work – salary sacrifice options Recognition – Employee of the Month long service awards Discounted driving lessons with local instructor Referral bonus scheme – financial incentives for successful referrals (criteria apply) Equality and Diversity Amegreen is committed to being an organisation where people can be their authentic selves in a safe and inclusive environment.
