Head of Children’s Services
Hertfordshire | £80,000 – £100,000 per annum
Are you a strategic and compassionate leader ready to make a meaningful difference in children’s lives? We’re seeking a dynamic Head of Children’s Services to provide visionary leadership across a portfolio of Ofsted-registered children’s homes in Hertfordshire and surrounding. These homes offer specialist, 24-hour residential care for children and young people with emotional or behavioural challenges and/or learning difficulties, autism, and complex needs. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring that every child receives exceptional care, support, and opportunities to thrive.
Requirements:
·A proven track record of senior leadership in children’s residential care, ideally within multi-site services.
·In-depth knowledge of Ofsted frameworks, safeguarding legislation, and the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
·The confidence and skill to lead multidisciplinary teams, drive change, and inspire a high-performance culture.
·Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities to engage with families, professionals, regulators, and staff.
·A values-led approach, aligned with the ethos and mission of our organisation.
·A relevant leadership qualification, such as a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent.
Responsibilities will include:
·Lead strategically and shape the vision for children’s care services and contribute to long-term organisational strategy and development.
·Drive quality and embed high-quality practices, robust quality assurance systems, and a culture of continual improvement.
·Champion safeguarding, ensure safety and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do, with a relentless focus on compliance and best practice.
·Work closely with Education, Therapy, Clinical, HR, and Estates teams to provide fully integrated care aligned with EHCPs and individual needs.
·Support and develop the senior leadership team and registered managers to build leadership strength, confidence, and capacity.
