The post holder is responsible for managing medical consumable stocks across wards and departments, ensuring supply continuity to prevent workflow interruptions while minimizing costs and inventory risks.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing stock requirements for specific departments.
2. Holding delegated budgetary authority to manage stock effectively and establishing weekly replenishment schedules based on agreed stock levels.
3. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with end-users through regular contact and understanding their needs.
4. Sourcing alternative products when necessary by liaising with clinical staff, non-clinical staff, and buyers.
5. Ensuring timely delivery of medical and non-medical consumables in line with schedules.
6. Utilizing Genesis inventory management system and NHS Supply Chain IT tools for ordering, reporting, and product information retrieval.
