About This Role
We are seeking a Research Software Engineer / Computational Modelling Specialist with experience in power electronics to support the implementation of a structured assessment framework within the University. This framework integrates multiple project components into a unified system capable of analysing data, exploring uncertainty, and producing transparent, defensible outputs for research and decision‑making.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate closely with stakeholders across project areas to understand system components, available data, and associated uncertainties or assumptions.
* Engage with partner organisations and, where necessary, undertake short secondments to understand data sources and operational contexts.
* Translate stakeholder input into a coherent computational workflow that enables consistent analysis and reporting.
* Develop software solutions as required, following rigorous interpretation of methodology and data.
* Apply strong analytical thinking, structured problem‑solving, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills to drive the project forward.
Qualifications
* Advanced expertise in engineering analytics, decision modelling, and systems development.
* Experience managing complex, cutting‑edge research projects with academic and industrial partners.
* Proven track record of collaboration and innovative problem‑solving in sustainable technology contexts.
* Strong analytical skills and ability to work across disciplinary boundaries.
Employment Details
Fixed‑term contract for two years, 20 hours per week (job share arrangements may be considered).
