Senior Mechanical & Electrical Estimators | Holborn, London | Full Time | £65,000–£80,000, depending on experience

Are you the right person for the job?
You will be a strong fit for this role if you have:
* Extensive estimating experience within the building services sector (mechanical and/or electrical).
* A proven track record in pricing and winning large-scale MEP projects (£5m+)
* Strong technical knowledge of either:
o Mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, public health, specialist systems), or
o Electrical systems (LV/HV distribution, lighting, fire alarms, ICT, security, specialist systems)
* Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Strong commercial awareness and knowledge of procurement routes, market rates, and risk management
* Proficiency with estimating software and digital tools
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-facing skills
* HNC / HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering ( or equivalent experience)
What will your role look like?
As a Senior Mechanical or Electrical Estimator, you will:
* Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for major MEP projects
* Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to identify risks, opportunities, and compliance requirements
* Carry out accurate take-offs and prepare robust pricing models using benchmark cost data
* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations and ensure technical/commercial compliance
* Prepare bills of quantities and schedules of rates when required
* Attend client meetings, site visits, and tender interviews
* Collaborate with design managers, planners, and project managers during the pre-construction phase
* Provide clear project handovers to delivery teams with full breakdowns of costs and allowances
* Contribute to value engineering solutions to enhance competitiveness
* Mentor junior estimators and support continuous improvement across estimating processes and tools
