Role overview
As Procurement Category Manager, you will oversee our Home Claims category, delivering procurement projects, managing contract risks, ensuring governance, and fostering innovation to maximize value from suppliers. You will develop strategic category plans, proactively identify opportunities, engage with the business, and stay updated on industry developments.
The Home Claims category includes services like building repairs, flood damage, content validation, among others, involving both technology and third-party services.
Key responsibilities include:
* Creating and executing ambitious category plans to achieve savings, enhance value, improve service, and mitigate risks in collaboration with stakeholders.
* Managing end-to-end procurement activities, including tenders, negotiations, due diligence, contract drafting, and legal liaising.
* Building strong stakeholder relationships to facilitate smooth procurement processes with clear deliverables and timelines.
* Onboarding and negotiating with suppliers to balance cost, service levels, risk, and organizational goals, ensuring benefits are tracked and realized.
* Partnering with suppliers and internal teams to identify opportunities for cost reduction, innovation, and improved commercial outcomes.
* Providing leadership and development for direct reports, setting and managing challenging objectives.
Essential skills and experience:
* Proven experience in Category Management.
* Exceptional negotiation skills with a strong commercial acumen.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing abilities, with a track record of managing multiple projects effectively.
