The Role
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to join our team and support our General Manager in the day-to-day running of the pub. This is a hands-on role, perfect for someone with a passion for hospitality, who thrives in a fast-paced environment, and who enjoys being part of a close-knit team.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the pub.
* Lead and motivate the front of house and bar team to deliver excellent customer service.
* Assist with staff training, scheduling, and performance management.
* Maintain high standards of food, drink, and service quality.
* Contribute to planning and running special events, including food nights, quizzes, live music, and festivals.
* Oversee stock control, ordering, and cellar management.
* Handle cash management, including tills and daily banking procedures.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.
* Step up to take full responsibility for the pub in the absence of the General
Manager.
About You
* Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within hospitality.
* A strong leader who can inspire, support, and develop a team.
* Enthusiastic, proactive, and hands-on with a genuine love for hospitality.
* Organised and adaptable, able to manage busy shifts and events.
* Knowledge of cellar management and bar operations (preferred).
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
