Advertising on behalf of our client DMS. JOB DESCRIPTION: ACCOUNTS TECHNICIAN REPORTS TO Financial Controller, COO DMS is a global leader in video collaboration and custom AV. SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE The Accounts Technician will be an integral part of the Finance and Accounting function across the organisation. They will be responsible for supporting the development and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements for a dynamic company. Working to tight deadlines, they will support accounting activities, including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and budget and forecasting. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Supporting the updating of the balance sheet and control accounts to include reconciliations necessary for monthly, quarterly and year end close process. Process all sales and purchase invoices, monthly payroll, expenses, bank receipts and payments. Produce external reports and meet legal reporting deadlines, including annual returns, audited accounts, P11D, pensions, PAYE, VAT returns, tax returns. Journal entries including maintenance of recurring journal entries and allocations. Assist with the preparation and presentation of management accounts to tight reporting deadlines, including preparation and monitoring of foreign accounts. Assist with year-end duties as required. Daily use of Sage and other bespoke in-house finance systems along with assisting in the development and implementation of new systems. Contribute to special projects as required. General office administration tasks including dealing with financial paperwork, filing and working with spreadsheets and assisting with more transactional and processing duties. Any other duties required by the CFO, as deemed necessary. Able to be discreet, diplomatic, reliable, and trustworthy. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE A minimum of four years' experience working in an office environment within an accounts/finance role. Qualified Accounting Technician. Passionate about developing a career in accountancy. Strong technical background of financial processes and systems experience, to include an advanced knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts, Sage Payroll and Microsoft products, particularly Excel. Experience of working on projects across multiple currencies. Experience of international accounting principles and standards is desirable. Full clean driving licence, current passport.
