Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

ASD Outreach Teachers are part of a multi- disciplinary team who work collaboratively with a range of staff to provide support for pupils with Additional Support Needs. They support learners by minimising barriers to learning for children and young people who are autistic learners. The ASD Outreach Teacher will work to develop practice and systems to support inclusion of autistic learners within their educational placement. This will include promoting equality of opportunity and equity for autistic learners by enabling them to access the curriculum and participate in the life of the school, through direct support and building capacity within schools.

REQUIREMENTS

This post is considered to be Regulated Work with children as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) (PVG) Act 2007. Accordingly, the preferred candidate will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if already a Scheme member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made. Please note that you may be required to meet the cost of PVG.
