Warwick District Council – Assistant Building Control Surveyor
£31,022 - £33,699 per annum (Career Grade)

As an Assistant Building Control Surveyor you will work on all aspects of building control, including checking plans, liaising with construction workers and the public on meeting Building Regulations, and consulting with Structural Engineers, Fire and Rescue, and other professionals.
In addition, you should have:
* Two 'A' Levels, or
* An appropriate building or construction qualification, together with at least two years in a construction or related work environment, or
* Registration with Building Safety Regulator (BSR) at Class 1 working toward Class 2A;
* Ability to check plans for compliance with the Building Regulations and communicate at all levels, with demonstrable experience of improving and delivering good customer service;
* Working toward formal qualifications in Building Control, such as full membership of the RICS, CABE or equivalent.
You will be self‑motivated, well‑organised, and possess strong communication skills—both written and oral—as well as excellent interpersonal skills and proficiency with modern IT software.
This post is based at our offices within Warwick District and is not suitable for home or hybrid working.
