Job Summary
Join Taylor Wimpey's Trainee programme and begin laying the foundations of becoming a fully qualified Buyer. As a pivotal member of the team, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the success of our homes and communities across the UK.
Buyers work with other teams to ensure building materials are available on time and within agreed limits. They are responsible for sourcing and procuring construction materials and services at competitive prices while maintaining quality and adhering to project timelines. Key duties include developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, controlling costs, ensuring quality standards, optimizing the supply chain, and maintaining compliance with regulations.
Ideal candidates will have a degree in Built Environment or a related field. This opportunity offers comprehensive training and development. Attention to detail, proficiency in Excel, and strong interpersonal skills are essential as you work closely with various teams.
The Trainee Buyer Scheme
The programme lasts between 2 - 4 years depending on your entry level and progression. It includes a 2-year development course at our specialist Training Hub in Solihull, with opportunities to attend business Masterclasses and spend insight days in other departments. Regular reviews with your line manager will support your career development towards becoming a qualified Assistant Buyer.

* Conduct valuations, reconcile costs, and compile reports.
* Group Deals: Attend Buyer meetings, complete supplier reports.
