JOB ROLE
AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Concept design & development:
1. Work alongside the Design and Technical teams in creation of concept ideas - generating designs and prototypes for evaluation.
2. Help develop product concepts, integrating technical designs and constraints.
3. Assist in user research, generating ideas fed from user / market insights.
New product development process:
4. Attend NPD workshops and weekly meetings with the R&D, Marketing and Operations team.
5. Understand technical constraints when creating designs for our product range.
6. Have a working understanding of manufacturing processes (DFM / DFA).
7. Work with suppliers to communicate design intent and manage cost and time constraints.
8. Review and manage budgets associated with Design development (rapid prototypes / POP models
9. Work within the Design and Engineering team to uphold brand intent and realise concept visions.
10. Creation of on-product graphics including brand-marking, regulatory labels - layouts / and 2D artworks for global ratings labels.
11. Develop product peripherals (brushes, attachments.
REQUIREMENTS
12. Minimum of 5 years’ industry experience.
13. Degree educated with experience working in a design consultancy or consumer products company.
14. Proficient in 3D CAD – SolidWorks (Including complex surfacing)
15. Capable of interpreting briefs and communicating ideas quickly with fluent and confident hand sketching skills.
16. UX / ergonomics insight experience and translation into product concepts.
17. Must have a sound knowledge of 2D Design packages - particularly the Adobe Suite.
18. Ability to create high quality visualisations - Keyshot / Cinema 4D
19. Confident to work with and manage external suppliers.
20. Self-motivated team player, with a positive and proactive approach.
21. Ability to mentor junior members of the Design team.
