Role description:
The Head of UK&I Healthcare Sector Growth is responsible for developing and leading the implementation of an ambitious, sustainable growth strategy for the UK & Ireland Healthcare market. The role will drive client development, manage sales across the sector, and harness the full capabilities of the Places Global Business Area (GBA) and other relevant Arcadis business units to position Arcadis as a trusted partner in healthcare.
Role accountabilities:
Strategy & Planning
* Develop and implement a dynamic growth strategy for the UK&I Healthcare sector, aligned with the Places GBA’s three-year strategic plan.
* Lead annual business planning for the sector, working collaboratively across Architecture & Urbanism (A&U) and Environment & Consultancy (E&C) business units.
* Define and execute a Sector Plan to deliver in excess of £15m per year in Net Revenue, driving year-on-year growth.
Business Development & Sales
* Deliver Net Order Intake, gross margin, weighted pipeline, and DRO to meet or exceed planned targets.
* Grow Key, Emerging, and target accounts by increasing revenue, bookings, and margin.
* Personally lead selected priority accounts within the sector.
Market & Client Engagement
* Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the UK healthcare market, identifying key trends and emerging opportunities.
* Build and leverage a network of enduring relationships across the healthcare sector to understand client needs and position Arcadis as a trusted advisor.
* Promote Arcadis through thought leadership, conferences, and external networking activities.
Pursuit & Proposal Management
* Manage pursuit activities: support bid/no-bid decisions, prepare proposals, and drive successful outcomes.
* Work collaboratively with Value Proposition Leaders to tailor Arcadis capabilities into market-winning propositions for healthcare clients.
* Ensure the Market to Opportunity and Pursuit to Win processes and governance are effectively applied, with seamless handover to delivery teams.
Internal Collaboration & Cross-Selling
* Foster cooperation across Arcadis business units to maximize cross-sell and trade-up opportunities.
* Partner with sector counterparts in E&C and A&U to address cross-sector opportunities (e.g., healthcare in Defence, health and social care in local government, placemaking).
Pipeline & Client Experience Management
* Manage the healthcare sector pipeline, ensuring targeted client development investment and maintaining comprehensive, accurate data to inform planning.
* Deliver exceptional client experience, conduct Client Experience (CX) surveys, and act on findings.
Leadership & Talent Development
* Manage Growth and Account Leaders / Practice Group Managers in the healthcare market.
* Coach and mentor Account Leaders, Practice Group Managers, and junior talent to support succession planning.
* Champion multi-disciplinary collaboration across architects, engineers, project and cost managers, and technical consultancy.
Qualifications & Experience:
* In-depth understanding of the UK healthcare market
* Network of client relationships
* Track record of successful account leadership and sales including in the UK public sector market
* Track record of leading and working successfully with multi-disciplinary teams
Competencies & Attributes:
* Ambitious mindset and a drive to grow the healthcare business and meet targets.
* The ability to inspire and enthuse account leaders and pursuit leaders to bring their best.
* Entrepreneurial attitude and strategic focus with excellent commercial drive and decisiveness.
* Professional credibility to provide Healthcare market leadership to a multi-disciplinary team
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
* Relevant professional qualification or chartered status
