Sous Chef – Hands-On Operational Role
Location: Hoar Cross Hall,
Staffordshire
Responsible To: Executive Chef
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to
join our team. This is a hands-on leadership role, working side by side with
the Head Chef and deputising in their absence to ensure the smooth day-to-day
running of the kitchen.
As Senior Sous Chef, you’ll be actively involved in cooking,
leading service, supporting menu development, and motivating the team. You’ll
set the standard in quality, consistency, and food safety, while helping to
drive efficiency and excellence in every service.
What you’ll be doing
* Leading daily kitchen operations and deputising for
the Head Chef when required.
* Cooking and plating to the highest standard during
busy services.
* Supporting menu planning and creating seasonal,
fresh dishes.
* Training, mentoring, and motivating the kitchen
team.
* Managing stock, orders, deliveries, and assisting
with monthly stocktakes.
* Ensuring food safety, hygiene, and health &
safety standards are always met.
* Responding professionally to guest feedback and
maintaining high service standards.
What we’re looking for
* A proven Junior Sous Chef ready to step up, or an
established Sous Chef.
* Strong leadership skills with a hands-on,
lead-from-the-front approach.
* A passion for food and creativity, with excellent
attention to detail.
* Organised and calm under pressure, with great
communication skills.
* Knowledge of HACCP, COSHH, and food safety
regulations.

Shift
Pattern:
* 5/7 days a week
* 45-hour contract
* Full flexibility is
key as you will be expected to work as and when necessary to meet the needs of
the team and the business. This includes evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
