Who we are:
At TrueLayer, we're creating a payments network that better connects banks, businesses and everybody. And we're going big. We're taking on cards with a payment method that's actually designed for the online, on-demand world we live in. Removing friction from the most crucial part of commerce: the payment.
To date, we've raised $270 million from world-renowned investors including Stripe, Tiger Global, Addition and Tencent. We've got offices in London, Milan and Dublin. And we're trusted by industry leaders like Coinbase, Revolut and William Hill… though we're not stopping here.
We're on a mission to change the way the world pays, invests, shops and saves. To transform how people approach payments. To build a brand that redefines an entire industry — and we'd like your help to get us there. So what do you say?
Description
TrueLayer is building the next generation of account-to-account payments for eCommerce in the UK and Europe, and our goal is to displace legacy payments technology, like Cards and Direct Debit. Leveraging Open Banking, we're disrupting the industry at pace.
This is your chance to get involved in an incredibly competitive and exciting space - and to be the Product Leader that changes the way everyone in Europe (and beyond) pays today. You couldn't join a better team at a better time - we are the Open Banking leaders - and we're looking for you to take us to the next level.
The role entails leading our 'Consumer Banking' group which owns the roadmap for all Account-2-Account (A2A) payment rails & capabilities within the UK & EU (currently). We have innovative plans to add more payment options for consumers and also expand geographically for our merchants. It's a high-impact role, and you will have an opportunity to build & develop a team, our A2A product and our business.
What we expect from you as our Head of Product:
* Leadership: Leading and managing PMs, and getting the best from the team through exemplary leadership; Define and monitor the relevant company OKRs and ensure they are being tracked in the right way
* Product Strategy: Key focus will be on building the best-in-class Account 2 Account (A2A) payment product for consumers. Responsible for identifying market trends and customer needs, but also monitoring the competitive landscape to set the overall product direction, vision, strategy, and roadmap.
* Product Execution: Develop and maintain a strategic product roadmap for your team; You will collaborate with other cross-functional teams spanning Product Design (UX/Designers), Policy, Partnerships, Sales, Engineering, Product Advisory, Client Success and Business Operations.
* Product Sense: Overall you will be the voice of customers, and more specifically around A2A payment options globally, advocating for the needs and requirements of our merchant clients and consumers as a whole. Actively engage with merchants & consumers to develop good judgement and intuition on the customer needs and payments landscape.
* Highly Practical: Leveraging data to make arguments and decisions; Drive data-driven choices within the team
About you:
* Experience in leading and managing PMs.
* Extensive experience in large enterprise payments or equivalent experience at card acquirer or payment processor.
* We need somebody that has a level of curiosity and are open to new approaches.
* An forward thinking mindset, that can communicate complexity, deal with across many stakeholders, takes ownership and shows leadership.
* Can act on data without relying on the complete picture to be built for them; prioritisation is your strength, and you have the ability to win consensus for your ideas amongst your stakeholders whilst constantly operating with a sense of urgency.
* Are customer-focused; everything you do, you do it to create a platform that our clients like to use.
* Enjoy working with cross-functional people from all over the world. Our ambitions are global, and so is the exemplary team we've built.
We would be particularly excited if you have:
* Experience working in a progressive startup environment
* Additional experience working with Account to Account payment methods
Don't meet all the requirements?
Multiple studies have shown that women and people of underrepresented groups are sometimes less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single requirement. At Truelayer, we are committed to building a diverse workforce, so if you are excited about this role and have the essential skills, but not the entire checklist - we'd still love to hear from you!
