Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our medical team. The post holder will work in a dedicated OT team alongside a supportive MDT, to deliver occupational therapy as part of a seven-day service. The role provides opportunity to work with patients across a range of medical specialities, assessing functional abilities and contributing to safe discharge planning. The team is committed to delivering high standards of care across the patient pathway.
Main Duties
We are seeking applications from individuals with a passion for working in the acute setting. You will need to demonstrate time‑management skills and the ability to be flexible, to manage a caseload in a busy setting. Excellent communication skills will be key, as you will be working with patients and their families in stressful and complex situations. The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate good interpersonal skills and be committed to team working both within OT and the wider MDT.
Applicants will be supported to develop problem solving and specialist clinical skills essential for meeting the demands of this setting. Regular supervision will be provided, and a staff appraisal system is in operation. We are commissioned to provide a seven‑day service so flexibility to work weekends may be required.
