Job Title: HLTA / Level 4 Teaching Assistant
Area: Rochdale, Greater Manchester
Start Date: Monday 23rd February 2026 or ASAP
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Pay rate: £600-£750 per week (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

As a High-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will play a vital role in supporting students, assisting in their educational and personal growth, and contributing to a calm and nurturing learning environment. Key Responsibilities:
1. Supporting students on a 1:1 or small group basis, ensuring their individual needs are met
2. Assisting with lesson planning and delivery, adapting materials as necessary
3. Contributing to the development of tailored learning plans for students with SEND
4. Helping to manage behaviour and maintaining a structured, supportive classroom environment
5. Working closely with the teaching team to ensure a holistic approach to each child’s learning
6. Supporting students with physical and personal care tasks where appropriate
What we’re looking for from a High Level Teaching Assistant:
7. A recent graduate (2:2 or higher) or prior experience as a Teaching Assistant in a SEND setting
8. Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs is essential
9. A strong commitment to supporting children with complex needs and a genuine passion for making a positive impact on their lives
10. Experience working in a UK school setting
To be eligible you must:
11. Level 4 Teaching Assistant qualifications
12. Hold Right to Work in the UK
13. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application
14. Provide two professional child related references
