HW Finance are proud to be partnering a Leeds Based Private Equity Backed Group to help appoint a new Head of FP&A.
You’ll play a pivotal role in preparing and owning the budgeting, reforecasting, and long-range planning processes - ensuring alignment between operational performance and financial projections. You'll deliver insights to senior leadership and external stakeholders including PE House & banks, and drive forward a culture of commercial acumen and data-backed decision-making.
This is an incredibly hands-on role, leading a small team, we are looking for someone who is as comfortable operating at board level, as they are getting into the weeds.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead group-wide budgeting and monthly/quarterly reforecasting, including P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow modelling
* Collaborate with commercial, marketing, and regional teams to gather inputs and stress-test assumptions
* Prepare board-level presentations and investor-facing packs for PE, and banking stakeholders
* Identify and monitor financial risks and opportunities, offering timely recommendations to mitigate or leverage them
* Deliver monthly Board reporting with insight-rich narrative, alongside KPI schedules for key stakeholders
* Lead profitability analysis and strategic project appraisals
* Manage and develop a Commercial Finance Analyst, fostering growth and technical excellence
* Present variance analysis comparing forecasted vs. actual sales, revenue, and margins
* Attend weekly trading meetings to stay close to sales trends and evolving business drivers
Experience required:
* Proven senior experience in FP&A, financial modeling, and business partnering, ideally in a PE-backed, multinational setting
* Strong ability to communicate financial information to non-financial audiences
* A critical thinker who balances strategic vision with attention to detail
* Deep curiosity about what drives business performance
* Experience with BI tools and data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
* Strong organizational and project management skills – able to triage and prioritize under tight deadlines
* Leadership experience, with the ability to coach and grow direct reports
