The Role:
As an Accounts Payable Assistant, your primary responsibility will be the efficient management of the purchase ledger function supporting Accounts Payable Senior
What You’ll Do:
* Process all purchase invoices and credit notes via scan and capture onto accounting system daily.
* Ensure the correct accounting codes, cost centres and departments are applied to each purchase invoice/credit note/purchase order.
* Ensure VAT is correctly accounted for on each purchase invoice/credit note.
* Create and maintain supplier accounts in accounting system.
* Reconcile supplier accounts and resolve differences.
* Deal with supplier account queries via telephone and email resolving queries promptly.
* Maintain the accounts payable mailbox making sure invoices sent to Scan and Capture and escalating any significant issues to Accounts Payable Senior
* Identify invoices which are prepayments making sure processed correctly.
* Raise weekly supplier payment runs and ad-hoc payments using online banking portal.
* Process all supplier payments onto accounting system& issue remittances
* Analysis of credit card statements and cash expenses and posting the resulting journals into the accounting system
* Assist Accounts Payable Senior in working with colleagues from Procurement to ensure smooth end to end Procure to Pay Process.
* Complete ad hoc reports / analysis work as requested by other members of the Finance Team.

* Customer service experience and strong interpersonal skills.
* A strong communicator, both written and verbally
* High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
* Takes accountability and ownership of work, but also works well as part of a team
* Ability to work well to deadlines and under pressure
* Ability to think logically and solve problems
