Are you ready to make a real difference and join a team that genuinely cares?

Join Elijah’s Care Team – Be Part of Something Special!

Meet Elijah - a vibrant, fun-loving 19-year-old who brings energy and joy to everyone around him. Elijah is passionate about music (he's a huge Taylor Swift fan!), loves watching football and rugby, enjoys trips to the cinema, and absolutely thrives when he's outdoors or in the pool for hydrotherapy.

He's intelligent, sociable, and has an infectious enthusiasm for life.

Elijah is non-verbal and has complex health needs including epilepsy, PEG feeding, tracheostomy care, and requires regular suctioning and physiotherapy. He relies on his brilliant care team 24/7 with two healthcare assistants always supporting him. Elijah is quadriplegic, meaning he cannot move his arms or legs. He needs help moving around, including the use of a hoist and a powered wheelchair. He is also incontinent and requires support with toileting.

We're building a dream team of people who are:

* Fun-loving with a great sense of humour - laughter is a daily requirement in our home!
* Genuinely caring and compassionate - you'll love what you do, not just do a job
* Hardworking and committed - Elijah deserves consistency and reliability
* Excellent communicator - able to build strong relationships with Elijah, his mum, and the wider team
* Team player - confident, assertive when needed, and willing to follow clinical guidance
* Trustworthy - you'll become part of our family.

It is essential for candidates to have a genuine passion for supporting with complex needs. Candidates must also have a full driving license and have access to their own vehicle.

About the Role

This role is centered around Elijah, strong teamwork and flexibility.

What you’ll be doing:

* Getting to know Elijah - learning his unique personality, how he communicates through body language, facial expressions, eye gaze, and symbols, and understanding his brilliant sense of humour
* Supporting Elijah with all aspects of personal care, clinical needs (suctioning, PEG feeds, physiotherapy), and transfers using specialist equipment
* Working in different locations - this isn't a static role!
* Accompanying Elijah to:
1. School runs and educational activities
2. Cinema trips, hydrotherapy sessions, and outdoor adventures
3. Days out in the community
4. Weekend breaks and social events
5. Family holidays - yes, you may have the opportunity to travel away with the family (expenses covered)
6. Hospital admissions when needed
* Household support - shopping, household chores, and helping maintain Elijah's home environment
* Nutrition: Prepare his daily feeds and administer them safely. Elijah does not eat or drink by mouth and receives all nutrition through a PEG tube
* Building a trusting relationship with Elijah and working closely with his mum and the care team

Shift Pattern:

* 12.5‑hour shifts rotating through:
o Days: 06:45 – 19:15
o Waking Nights: 18:45 – 07:15
o Weekends (alternate)
o Bank Holidays including Christmas (as part of rotation)
* Applicants must be available and willing to work a combination of day and night shifts on different days each week. Shifts are allocated in 4‑week blocks (Rota), released at least 2 weeks prior to rota starting. Carers can request days off ahead of rota being written.

Pay Structure:

* £14/hour during probation and training
* £15/hour weekdays (once competent)
* £16/hour weeknights
* £17/hour weekends

BENEFITS

In return for your dedication, you’ll receive a competitive rate of pay in addition to:

* Company pension scheme after 3 months’ service, subject to the scheme rules
* Opportunity to join our Cash Back Health Plan, after successful completion of the probation period
* Free training and development for all roles
* Access to wellbeing and support tools
* ‘Star of the Month’ rewards
* And so much more!
