CONSULTANT IN ENHANCED TEAM EAST CMHT (WORKING AGE ADULT)

Permanent, full time, 10 programmed activities per week plus on‑call.
Salary: £119,490 to £145,478 a year (point 04 of the consultant pay scale, Hospital medical and dental staff, Grade Consultant).

Main Duties of the Job
* Deliver high quality care to patients as part of the Community Mental Health Team (Enhanced Pathway).
* Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, manage and support patients with working‑age adult mental health needs.
* Provide clinical leadership, training and support to team members.
* Engage with families, carers and wider agencies, ensuring a person‑centred approach.
* Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement and service evaluation programmes.
* Maintain accurate electronic patient records and comply with MHA and MCA requirements.
Person Specification
Eligibility (Essential)
* Fully registered with the GMC and hold a licence to practise (or have checked GMC eligibility and commenced the application process at the time of NHS jobs application).
* Included on the GMC Specialist Register for general adult psychiatry or within six months of gaining CCT.
* Approved clinician status or able to achieve within three months of appointment.
* Approved under S12 or able to achieve within three months of appointment.
* In good standing with the GMC with respect to warnings and conditions on practice.
Experience (Essential)
* Excellent knowledge in the specialty of adult psychiatry.
* Strong clinical skills using a bio‑psycho‑social perspective with broad medical knowledge.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
* Ability to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
* Decision making based on evidence and experience, incorporating input from others.
* Capability to meet duties under the MHA and MCA.
* Ability to provide clinical leadership to a multi‑professional team and liaise with a variety of agencies.
Experience (Desirable)
* Wide range of specialist and sub‑specialist experience relevant to the post within NHS or a comparable service.
