Are you passionate about precision, problem-solving, and making a real impact in the world of pensions? This is an exciting opportunity to join WTW’s Outsourcing Business as a Pensions Calculation Analyst within our Business Solutions function.
In this role, you'll work alongside a talented team of onshore and offshore Calculation Experts, supporting a diverse portfolio of large and complex Defined Benefit (DB) pension schemes. As WTW’s Outsourcing business continues to grow—supporting major pension schemes, LifeSight, leading insurers, and our OneDB proposition—you’ll have the chance to contribute to innovation, streamline processes, and help shape more efficient ways of working.
We’re looking for someone with deep DB pensions expertise, including a strong understanding of manual calculations or automated calculations in pension projects which may involve buy-in, buy-out, Guaranteed Minimum Pensions (GMP), GMP Equalisation, and the Barber judgement, etc. If you’re a collaborative, detail-driven professional ready to take on complex challenges and help modernize how pensions are delivered—we’d love to have you on the team.

This is a hybrid (occasionally working from office) role which can be based in Redhill, Leeds, Welwyn Garden City, Bristol, London, Birmingham or Glasgow.
The Role
* Analysing business requirements, Trust Deed and Rules and other scheme documentation and planning an appropriate software solution with a focus on accuracy, build efficiency and maintainability.
* Foster a culture of quality and instill behaviour required for success.
* Interact with third parties such as the scheme actuary and solicitors to clarify complex and technical queries.
* Completing given tasks in a timely fashion including managing deadlines appropriately.
* Providing an efficient, professional service to meet all client needs and to promote the WTW brand.
* Alongside other Specialist produce detailed calculation proforma from first principles and supporting automation test packs.
* Work towards developing and optimizing end to end automation.
* Build on technical expertise/capabilities/skills and contribute towards measurable improvements.
* Contribute to the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and single team culture to increase end to end automation efficiencies and results.
Qualifications
The Requirements
* Strong background in UK occupational pensions, including Defined Benefit schemes and historical legislation.
* In-depth knowledge of Contracting Out requirements (e.g., GMP, buy-in, buy-out, etc.).
* Self-starter with ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations.
* Quick learner, adept at adopting new technologies and tools.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong problem-solving and reasoning abilities with a solution-oriented mindset.
* Proven ability to multi-task and collaborate in virtual teams.
* Process-driven with flexibility to adapt approach as needed.
* Exceptional time management and ability to meet deadlines.
* Skilled in organizing and prioritizing workload independently.
* Proficient in MS Excel and Word.
* Experience in establishing standards, procedures, and promoting best practices..
