Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary School
Location: West Leeds
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Start Date: As soon as possible
Looking for a role where what you do genuinely matters every single day?
We’re working with a welcoming primary school in West Leeds who are looking for a caring, committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join them full-time. This is a contracted role, Monday to Friday, starting as soon as you’re ready.
This isn’t just about supporting learning. It’s about being that steady presence in the classroom. The calm voice. The quiet encourager. The person who helps a child feel safe, understood and ready to give things a go.
What you’ll be doing
Supporting pupils with SEND in a primary setting, either 1:1 or in small groups
Helping children access learning in a way that works for them
Working flexibly across different year groups
Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
No two days will look exactly the same, and that’s part of the magic.
What we’re looking for
We’re not just looking for qualifications on paper. We’re looking for the right kind of person.
You might have:
Childcare experience in schools, nurseries, youth work or similar settings
Experience supporting children with SEND, whether in a professional setting or through personal experience supporting family or friends with additional needs
A calm, patient and adaptable approach
Confidence to work across different primary year groups
If you’re the sort of person who notices when a child is struggling and instinctively knows how to support them, you’ll feel right at home here.
Why this primary school?
It’s a supportive, community-focused school where teamwork really means something. Staff are valued, children are known as individuals, and SEND support is taken seriously.
