About The Role
We have a brand‑new opportunity for a work‑winning MEP Associate Director to support the commercial division, based in Bristol.
As an Associate Director, you will take responsibility for technical delivery, bid presentations, and leadership on large‑scale, complex projects. You will add value beyond scope, secure future work, and develop client relationships to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and other professionals to foster future opportunities.
* Identify business growth opportunities and negotiate scope and fee levels.
* Support Directors to secure and deliver growth in the commercial workspace market with emphasis on fit‑out.
* Participate in regional win initiatives and contribute to industry organisations such as the British Council for Offices (BCO).
* Promote Hoare Lea services and contribute to bid preparation.
* Define briefs with clients, own delivery of profitable, large and complex schemes.
* Lead a high‑performing local team and support staff development.
* Manage project team workloads, delegate, and oversee work quality.
* Monitor fee expenditure, resources and deliverables.
* Support financial management, invoicing, debtor chasing, fee variations and final account settlement.
* Ensure quality standards, technical accuracy, and risk mitigation.
* Manage a team fee turnover of approximately £1m per annum.
About You
* Can handle difficult situations in a non‑adversarial manner.
* Qualified and recognised in industry with Chartered status.
* Strong technical knowledge in primary area of expertise and understanding of other disciplines.
* Experience in a multi‑disciplinary environment with excellent communication skills.
* Excellent written and spoken English.
* Self‑aware, open mind, generous spirit.
* Conversant with relevant British Standards and previous consultancy experience.
