Accounts & Audit Senior Newbury Clark Wood are currently working with an established accountancy firm who are looking to recruit an Accounts & Audit Audit Senior to join their growing Audit team in Newbury. The successful candidate will take responsibility for leading audit assignments for a range of limited companies, working closely with Client Managers and Directors to deliver high-quality statutory audit work. The role will involve planning, executing and completing audits in accordance with ISAs, preparing statutory accounts, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards. In addition, you will have the opportunity to support and mentor trainees, assist in identifying technical knowledge gaps within the team, and contribute to the ongoing development of audit processes and client service delivery. You will also liaise directly with clients to ensure accurate and timely completion of assignments. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with strong audit and accounts experience gained within a practice environment. Excellent technical knowledge, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage client relationships and deadlines effectively will be essential. Duties & Responsibilities: • Planning, preparing and completing statutory audits for a range of limited companies • Conducting audits in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) • Attending client premises and liaising directly with clients during audit fieldwork • Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies • Drafting corporation tax computations and analysing tax-sensitive items • Ensuring financial statements comply with relevant accounting standards • Working closely with Client Managers and Directors on audit assignments • Supporting trainees and assisting with their technical development • Identifying and resolving technical audit and accounting issues • Keeping up to date with changes in accounting and auditing standards • Ensuring assignments are delivered within agreed deadlines and budgets Skills: • Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent) • Strong audit and accounts experience within a practice environment • UK statutory audit experience essential • Good understanding of accounting standards and ISAs • Experience preparing statutory accounts for limited companies • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication and client relationship skills • High level of attention to detail • Strong organisational and time management skills • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines • Confident using accounting software and Microsoft Office • Knowledge of systems such as SAGE, Xero, QuickBooks or CCH Audit Automation advantageous For more information, please contact Eleanor Snow at Clark Wood on 07375 801311 or email eleanor@clark-wood.co.uk We also offer a £500 referral bonus for any successful introductions.
