About the role Title – Security Officer Pay Rate – £17.65 Location – Covent Garden Shift Timings – Day and nights, 4 on 4 off, 42 hours per week with an opportunity of overtime Your main responsibilities include: Oversee the day-to-day security operations across the site, ensuring all procedures are followed and security presence is always maintained. Team Supervision: Lead, support, and motivate the on-site security officers, ensuring professional conduct, performance standards, and appearance are consistently upheld. Scheduling and Cover: Manage the security rota, coordinate officer leave, requests and arrange additional cover when required to maintain full site coverage. Incident Management: Respond to and manage security incidents effectively, ensuring they are reported, investigated, and documented appropriately. Patrol Oversight: Ensure regular and thorough patrols are conducted, and any anomalies or risks are identified and addressed promptly. Log and Report Management: Review and maintain accurate records of incidents, patrols, visitor logs, and other security documentation in line with site and company protocols. Training Delivery: Deliver and coordinate training sessions for the security team, including site-specific procedures, emergency response, and customer service skills. Liaison and Communication: Act as a key point of contact between the security team and the Security Manager, as well as liaising with other departments and external stakeholders when required. Compliance and Standards: Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and any site-specific requirements. Emergency Response: Take charge in emergency situations, following site protocols and supporting evacuation or incident response as needed. Payroll Responsibilities Accurately record and submit security staff hours for payroll processing by using the Right Time platform To succeed in this role, you will need the following: Experience & Qualifications: Proven experience in a supervisory security role, ideally within a high-profile or customer-facing environment. Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence (or equivalent). First Aid at Work certificate (or willingness to obtain). Experience managing staff rotas, shift patterns, and arranging cover. Familiarity with incident management, reporting procedures, and site patrol practices. Skills & Knowledge: Strong leadership and team coordination skills. Good understanding of security protocols, emergency procedures, and health & safety regulations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Competent in report writing, record-keeping, and use of security systems (CCTV, access control, radios). Ability to deliver on-the-job training and briefings to team members.
