Job Description
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist in Dementia Services to join a leading hospital within NHS Scotland.
Requirements
Qualifications:
MB, ChB or equivalent.
MRCPsych or Equivalent Mental Health (Care and Treatment)(Scotland) 2003 Section 22 Act Approved Medical Practitioner (AMP) status or commitment to undertake this training at earliest opportunity.
Completed appropriate Higher specialist training within old age psychiatry.
CCT/on the Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining it at time of interview.
Full driving licence
Full registration with GMC
Clinical Experience:
Knowledge of Mental Health Act. AWI Act and associated duties.
Appropriate degree of training, Experience to consultant level Experience of working in dementia services Overall clinical knowledge and experience commensurate with Consultant responsibility.
Evidence of satisfactory appraisal in dementia services. Proficient in effective community liaison, eg. with GPs
Teaching and Training:
Registration for CPD with Royal College of Psychiatrists, Commitment to maintaining and developing skills.
Research and Audit Experience:
Research skills and evidence based training.
Understands principles of audit and experience of using audit in practice

Requirements
Qualifications MRCPCH or equivalent qualification Valid driving licence Registration with the GMC with a licence to practise Clinical Experience Able to undertake a general paediatric workload, including the care of newborn infants requiring intensive care Experience of teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels Demonstrable experience of regular participation in clinical audit, & implementation of its findings Research & Audit Experience Good general knowledge of paediatrics Basic computing skills Understanding of current issues in the NHS impacting on Scotland in particular Team Working & Interpersonal Skills Able to demonstrate skills in communication and team-working with both medical and non-medical colleagues Evidence of satisfactory organisation of work Evidence of effective interpersonal skills
