Position: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Leighton Buzzard Contract: Full-Time Start Date: Immediate About the Opportunity: We are collaborating with a supportive and inclusive school in Leighton Buzzard to recruit a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. This role involves working closely with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing essential support to help them access the curriculum and thrive in their learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Support pupils with SEN by assisting with their learning and personal development both individually and in small groups Work alongside teachers to deliver differentiated learning activities tailored to individual pupil needs Implement specific strategies and interventions designed to support pupils with a range of SEN, including social, emotional, and communication difficulties Assist in the preparation of resources and classroom materials to support lesson plans Help manage pupil behaviour in a positive and consistent manner Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that encourages pupil confidence and independence Liaise with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other professionals to ensure cohesive support for each pupil Candidate Profile: Previous experience supporting children with SEN or additional needs in an educational setting A patient, empathetic approach with strong communication skills Ability to remain calm and positive when supporting pupils with complex needs Familiarity with behaviour management strategies and inclusive teaching practices Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing Willingness to learn and adapt to meet the changing needs of pupils and the school environment Relevant qualifications or experience in SEN support, teaching assistance, or related fields would be an advantage Why Join Us?
