About the role
At Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick, we're part of the MEH Alliance, delivering critical mechanical, electrical and HVAC works at Hinkley Point C, one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects. We are now looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer to support the successful delivery of construction activities on this major nuclear project. As an Electrical Site Engineer, you will support the Construction Manager and Engineering Manager with the planning and day‑to‑day delivery of works on site. The role is focused on coordinating technical information, supporting subcontractor activities, managing submittals and drawings, and helping to ensure project schedules, quality standards and handover requirements are achieved. Site based 5 day working week.
What you’ll be doing
* Supporting the planning and daily execution of construction activities on site
* Managing submittals, approvals and shop drawings to maintain programme requirements
* Coordinating materials and ensuring timely delivery in line with project schedules
* Assisting with subcontractor coordination, bid package support and orientation activities
* Supporting site quality processes and verifying subcontractor deliveries meet approved requirements
* Attending project meetings and assisting with progress reporting and meeting minutes
* Maintaining accurate as‑built records, including clarifications, RFIs and design changes
* Supporting close‑out documentation, handover and training requirements
Who we’re looking for
* Degree‑qualified in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in a relevant field‑based role
* Experience in a construction or engineering environment, with graduate‑level applicants also considered where relevant experience has been gained
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams effectively
* A strong commitment to quality, continuous improvement and delivering to project requirements
* High levels of integrity and a collaborative approach to working with internal teams, subcontractors and client stakeholders
* Ability to gain a security clearance
