Be among the first 25 applicants for a Lifeguard - Trainee / Qualified role at Center Parcs UK. Based in the Subtropical Swimming Paradise at Center Parcs Woburn Forest. The facility is heated to 29.5C year round and open from 10am to 9pm daily. The pool area includes a toddler pool, wave pool, whirlpool and flumes as well as wild water rapids. Activities available include learning to snorkel, scuba diving and aqua jets.
Role and responsibilities
* Serve as the main point of contact for guests in the Subtropical Swimming Paradise.
* Welcome guests in a positive, friendly manner while ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements in the pool environment.
* Act as the face of Center Parcs, providing professional guest care and creating a lasting positive impression.
* Maintain cleanliness standards within the Subtropical Swimming Paradise and ensure all company and legal requirements are met at all times.
* Trainee candidates will be required to attend an NPLQ course, and an offer of employment will be subject to passing the course and a successful interview.
* Complete a full-time five-day course covering responsibilities of lifeguarding, observation of pool guests, rescue techniques, first aid and CPR.
* For lifeguard roles, demonstrate strong swimming ability and complete a swim test if invited to interview (deep-water dive, timed and continuous front- and back-stroke swimming, exit without ladder or steps).
* Undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check; suitability of the disclosure is required for employment to commence.
* Be able to reliably commute to Center Parcs Woburn Forest, MK45 2HZ.
Hours of work
We offer flexible contracts. Your hours and days of work could vary each week, but you will always receive at least your contracted hours per period. Available options include:
* 48 hours per 4-week period – 6-hour shifts, weekends only
* 75 hours per 4-week period – 6-hour shifts, weekdays and weekends
* 100 hours per 4-week period – 7.5-hour shifts
Please state your desired contracted hours under the suitability section of your application. As the village is open 365 days a year, working hours may include public/bank holidays and Christmas and/or New Year on a rota basis.

You must possess excellent communication skills and be friendly and approachable, providing a supportive role to guests with personal attention and care at all times.
Essential requirements
* Ability to communicate with people from all walks of life
* Ability to perform calmly under pressure; RLSS Pool Lifeguard / NARS qualification for qualified lifeguards
* Friendly, genuine and warm towards guests and colleagues
Desirable requirements
* First Aid Certificate
* Experience in pool plant operation
* Use of a defibrillator
