We are now looking to recruit a Trainee Designer to work with the Design team in our Leeds office to support with design plans for the installation of fire detection, security, CCTV and access control systems.
The successful person will have the drive and commitment to learn the whole design process from start to finish as well as demonstrating a passion for the fire and security industry.
The role will include, but not be limited to:
-Work closely with the design team to develop, design and prepare quotations and drawings for new and existing customers.
-Verify scope of works with tenders and prepare drawings.
-Produce accurate cost books and quotations in line with company policy.
-Produce variation quotations.
-Assist with carrying out site surveys.
-Use computer aided design (CAD) software.
-Keep up to date with industry developments and standards.
-To actively support at all times, company policy and best practice in the area of security, with particular emphasis on the protection of sensitive customer information.
-Develop a good understanding of the Standards which relate to our Industry and the systems we install.
Required Skills:
Completion of a CAD, Engineering Technology or Architectural Technology course would be beneficial.
Self motivated and willing to learn as part of a dynamic team.
Able to work under pressure to maintain deadlines.
Excellent organisation, written and numerical skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Excellent time keeping and time management skills.
Desire to work as part of a growing team and demonstrate flexibility to assist where needed.
Willingness to go the extra mile.
Self motivated and a team player, demonstrating professionalism, positivity and proactiveness.
Working hours are 08:30 to 17:00 with a 45 minute lunch break.Salary will be discussed at interview stage.
