Key Responsibilities
* Actively manage the full range of multi-disciplined Stores operational activities and personnel, adhering to Joint Service Publications and MJDI Accounting requirements. Ensuring compliance, succession planning and career development are programmed
* Act as the lead Subject Matter Expert for Logistics matters, utilizing the knowledge and support of Departmental managers, ensuring that the latest Publications, Memoranda and Circulars are implemented, and the Authority is advised of any issues that could arise as regulations change
* Promote the development and optimum performance of delivery teams, taking appropriate and timely action to mitigate risk and the potential for service failure in the Logistics Service Stream
* Identify and implement innovative solutions within the Logistics Service Stream to meet the emerging demands of the business within contractual boundaries
* Ensure all activities are carried out in full compliance with current Health and Safety Regulations and the Data Protection Act
* Support and contribute to HESTIA Soft FM contract Incident management and Business Continuity
* Line Manages all Tier 3 Logistics Department Managers and Supervisors in the SE Region
* To maintain a pro‑active approach to Health & Safety ensuring that there are no reportable accidents to the client's staff, contractor staff or any visitors to his/her areas of responsibility that are attributable to his/her negligence
* To conduct regular safety tours of all sites and departments, authorise Risk Assessments completed by Line Managers/Supervisors, hold toolbox talks with staff
* To ensure the procurement, receipt, custody, issue and accounting of all stores or fuels etc. as required to meet the tasks of the Establishments
* Undertake any additional tasks as determined by the client Line Manager, leading on change to meet the emerging needs of the business
Qualifications and Experience
* Demonstrable experience/familiarity (at least 3 years) in a similar military or related role (highly desirable)
* Broad subject matter expertise in Naval Supply Chain practices and procedures (highly desirable)
* Knowledge of Management of Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI) and UAA Qualification and Tri Service accounting regulations (highly desirable)
* Experience of military ethos / culture (desirable)
* Established experience in leading and working as a part of a team
* Ability to work on own initiative to provide prioritised, creative and practical solutions
* Strong inter‑personal and communications skills, both written and verbal
* Proactive ability to determine, embrace and lead change when required
* Ability to identify, prioritise and mitigate risks
* Proven administrative skills at management level
* IT literate
* Full Driving Licence
* Management level knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and practice (IOSH (Managing Safely) or equivalent H&S qualification)
* Good standard of education preferably to NVQ Level 4 or equivalent (in Warehousing or MILT desirable)
