The role
The Governors of Oakwood Avenue Primary School wish to appoint an Outdoor Play and Learning (OPAL) Play Team Member in our After School Club
Main Duties:
1. Working as part of the wraparound team to ensure all children have access to exciting play opportunities in a safe and secure environment.
2. Work with the curricular play lead and play team members to ensure that all children have a safe site for play.
3. Assess play areas for risks daily and communicating/implementing any changes required.
4. Facilitate play opportunities and act as an ambassador for play.
5. Assist with putting out and packing away play equipment.
Skills and experience:
6. Enjoy engaging with young children to deliver high quality play
7. Have experience of working with children
8. Have an understanding of how children develop and learn
9. Be willing to learn and develop with the support of our experienced staff team
10. Be an excellent communicator with adults and children alike
11. Be flexible and able to adapt to different situations
12. Be organised and able to work well as part of a team

Hours: 15 hours per week, Club hours Monday to Thursday 3.15pm – 6pm and Friday 2pm – 4.45pm (working hours 3-6pm Monday – Thursday and 1.45pm – 4.45pm Friday)
Contract: Fixed term contract until July 2026 Starting : ASAP
Salary: Grade 3 SCP 4-5 (£25,185- £25,583, pro rata)
