Overview

Our vision is clear: everyone deserves a good-quality home they can afford. We invest millions of pounds each year to keep our homes safe and decent, while also playing a part in tackling the UK housing crisis by building hundreds of modern, energy-efficient homes for rent in Sunderland. If you share our passion for creating thriving communities and want to be part of something that truly matters, we'd love for you to join us and help achieve our vision. If you have any accessibility needs or require adjustments, please let us know—we're here to support you. We may close this vacancy earlier than the advertised closing date if we receive a large number of applications. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible to ensure your application is considered.

We are excited to offer fixed-term opportunities to join our Housing Management team as Neighbourhood Coordinators. These roles are ideal for individuals passionate about supporting our communities and delivering excellent neighbourhood services.

Role summary

Our Neighbourhood Coordinators play a vital role in shaping the services we deliver at Gentoo, working closely with our communities to make a real difference every day. * Work in partnership with other agencies to provide solutions for complex, vulnerable customers and housing issues.
* Support customers to provide feedback in a clear and accessible way in line with Gentoo's complaints policy.
* Accountability for achieving relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) and demonstrating professional and positive behaviours within the workplace.
* Collaborate with the Customer Voice team to maximise customer and resident involvement, enabling opportunities for customers to influence and be involved.
* Treat all customers with respect, warmth and compassion in every interaction, applying discretion and maintaining confidentiality.
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements.

What we are looking for

* A full UK driving licence is essential, and access to a vehicle is highly desirable.
* A detailed understanding of housing issues, policies and procedures, including Regulatory Standards and Tenant Satisfaction Measures.
* An understanding of the current issues surrounding social housing and how these affect our customers' lives and needs.
* Adaptable to meet the travel requirements of the post with the needs of the business, including working remotely or from any of the Group's offices.
* Highly developed communication, negotiation, mediation and active listening skills.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills, the ability to quickly build rapport with customers and external partner agencies, and the ability to work as an integral part of a team are essential.
* Demonstrable administration skills, including knowledge of Microsoft packages and in-house systems, with proven ability to interpret data, effectively plan workload, adapt to changing priorities, and meet targets and deadlines.
