Who We’re Looking For (Position Overview):
As the Solution Train Architect, your day will center on defining, evolving, and driving execution of the end‑to‑end solution architecture that enables multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to deliver integrated, mission‑ready capabilities. You will operate at the intersection of strategy, architecture, and delivery ensuring architectural intent is clear, actionable, and consistently executed across the Solution Train.
What Your Day-To-Day Looks Like (Position Responsibilities):
* Architectural Direction & Alignment: Collaborate with Solution Management, Solution Train Engineer (STE), portfolio leadership, and business stakeholders to ensure solution architecture aligns to strategic themes and epics, portfolio and solution intent MCEN operational and mission needs, translate high‑level strategy into clear architectural guidance, roadmaps, and guardrails that ARTs can execute against. Make deliberate trade‑off decisions balancing mission outcomes, technical feasibility, risk, and long‑term sustainability.
* Execution Support Across ARTs: Actively engage with System Architects, ART Architects, and engineering leads to drive consistent architectural patterns and decisions across the Solution Train. Participate in ART and Solution‑level events (PI Planning, Pre‑PI Planning, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt) to validate architectural integrity, resolve cross‑ART dependencies and constraints, identify emerging technical risks early, and ensure architectural runway is intentionally planned and built to support near‑ and long‑term feature delivery.
* Driving Architectural Outcomes: Lead the development and evolution of solution architecture artifacts, including solution intent, reference architectures and standards, interface and integration models, provide hands‑on architectural coaching, ensuring teams understand why architectural decisions are made, not just what they are. Work decisively to address architectural drift, technical debt, or deviation from agreed architectural direction.
