The Role
The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to a Physician/General Surgeon/Dental Consultant, Nurse Specialist, or group of Physicians/Surgeons/Dental Consultants, Associate Specialists, Nurse Specialists, and PAM Specialists. You will be responsible for audiotyping (touch-typing, shorthand typing) of clinical correspondence, ensuring these are typed within agreed timescales. Additionally, you will maintain a pending system for all results, ensuring they are seen by the appropriate consultants. You will also deal with telephone and face-to-face inquiries from staff, patients, relatives, and carers, providing information, directing, and prioritizing queries to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.

What we'll need you to bring
* HNC/SVQ III in Secretarial Studies/Business Administration or equivalent experience.
* Understanding of various work procedures, including some non-routine tasks requiring an intermediate level of knowledge.
* Knowledge of secretarial procedures, including advanced keyboard skills.
* Proficient in software systems.
* Understanding of medical terms; RSA3 and relevant experience.
* Good organisational and communication skills.
Please note: For roles requiring a driving license, a full UK/EU/EEA license is mandatory.
It would be beneficial if you also have
* Relevant secretarial experience in a similar role.
* Proficient IT skills, including full knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and work independently.
Contract type
Permanent, Part-Time (22.5 hours). The salary will be pro-rata.
Location and Working Pattern
This role is based in Maternity & Neonatal at University Hospital Wishaw. The working pattern will be confirmed by the hiring manager.
