Sustainability Lead – £50,000 to £65,000 Package Location: Princes Risborough A leading construction contractor delivering high-specification industrial, manufacturing, and mission-critical facilities is seeking a Sustainability Lead to join their UK operations. The business is known for its technical delivery, collaborative culture, and long-standing commitment to environmental performance across its projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate sustainability professional to work on major developments across sectors such as data centres, logistics, advanced manufacturing, and life sciences. The Role: As Sustainability Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of environmental and sustainability goals across live construction projects. You will guide project teams through key compliance areas including BREEAM, LEED, and low-carbon construction, ensuring best practice is embedded from start to finish. Key Responsibilities: Act as the project-level sustainability lead on multiple construction schemes Provide technical input on environmental compliance and ESG-related planning conditions Support and track progress towards certification targets (e.g. BREEAM, LEED, WELL) Maintain robust documentation, trackers, and evidence for audits and reporting Conduct site visits and contribute to incident response and management plans Lead or support training and upskilling for site teams and supply chain Feed into broader company sustainability strategy and performance evaluations Requirements: Degree (or equivalent) in environmental, sustainability, or ESG-related field 3 years’ experience in sustainability within the built environment Strong working knowledge of BREEAM, LEED, and environmental management systems Excellent communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels Full UK driving licence (occasional travel to sites required) Desirable (but not essential): BREEAM AP / LEED AP / ISO14001 Internal Auditor Experience leading BREEAM projects from pre-con to completion Professional membership with IEMA, IES, or similar body
