Offer description

Join us on our journey to empower over a million people to change their behaviours and thrive! At Thrive Tribe we deliver award-winning healthy lifestyle and wellbeing programmes that make people happier and healthier! It’s a super exciting time to join us as we begin to deliver Stop Smoking Services throughout County Durham; we’re looking for a Specialist Stop Smoking Advisor: Hospital Setting to join our team and work with NHS colleagues in the Tobacco Control Team in one of our local hospitals. Our Generic Stop Smoking Programmes are designed to support local people who live, study or work in County Durham and want, or need, to quit smoking. Residents across County Durham who smoke are able to benefit from a variety of our established pathways and products including free vapes and Nicotine Replacement Therapy; and medications such as Varenicline to help them to quit. As a Specialist Stop Smoking Advisor in a local hospital setting, your role will be to deliver face-to-face stop smoking support to eligible patients who want support with their quit journey, then ensure their support is continued seamlessly by our community-based Stop Smoking Service; Smokefree County Durham. Like all roles at Thrive Tribe, you can expect your time at work to be fun, varied and challenging. We don’t like to stick to a firm JD as we know from experience that things change throughout the lifetime of a role and it gives our people the chance to play to their strengths. A typical day as a Specialist Stop Smoking Advisor: hospital based might include : · Delivering evidence-based interventions that focus on smoking cessation, behaviour change, and psychological support to save lives by helping smokers quit for good · Engaging with patients and colleagues across all wards and departments to deliver our stop smoking service to patients on a one-to-one or group basis · Working with partner organisations and colleagues across the system to help improve client uptake and meet targets · Ensuring an excellent and safe experience for patients and clients, in alignment with both the Trust’s and Thrive Tribe’s policies and procedures · Engaging in training relevant to your role, such as NCSCT Stop Smoking training and Behaviour Change Level 1 and 2 · Using relevant information technology and systems to manage your day to day tasks and client databases. · Working with colleagues across all of our Thrive Tribe and NHS Trust’s services to contribute to new projects and service developments – we’re always looking to share knowledge and resources! · Ensuring due consideration is given to Information Governance and Clinical Governance legislation, requirements and guidance · Helping us maintain the ethos of Thrive Tribe by driving our organisational culture forward across our services and using every opportunity to embed our values! About you… More than anything, we are looking for a team player who puts their heart into their work. We’ve got some core values that run through everything we do, and we’d love it if they resonate with you, too! Be the change You like helping people. You’ll be working with those who need help the most, empowering them to make positive changes to thrive. Be effective You’re patient and can adapt under pressure. Always happy to make time for other people and have a great attitude. Be happy You recognise the power of a smile. You value a fun, supportive workplace and want to come to work raring to go (check out our rating on Glassdoor). Be successful You are motivated and driven. Happy working solo or as part of a team, you love meeting targets and will be given opportunities to contribute and develop your career. Be big-hearted You want to make a difference. Working with a like-minded team of optimistic people, you want to engage in meaningful work and change lives. To work with us in this role, it would be desirable for you to have some delivery experience of supporting clients to make healthy lifestyle choices, but don’t worry if that isn’t the case full training for the role will be provided. However, if you have already completed your NCSCT Stop Smoking Advisor training that’s a bonus! We hire based on attitude over traditional skills and experience so if you feel you are right for the job we would love to hear from you! Perks… Every person makes Thrive Tribe the incredible place it is to work and play together, we’re unstoppable. Within our buzzing environment our talented people work hard but we ensure lots of fun is thrown in too! We offer you; · Regular team events and activities, including Thrive Fest and our annual Challenge Weekend (for those who want to put their fitness to the test!) · Flexible working – we’re serious about life/work balance · Tailored health and wellbeing support such as access to life coaching · Rewards portal offering discounts on shops, restaurants, and days out · Enhanced parental leave · 23 days holiday, increasing every year up to a maximum of 29 days (plus Bank Holidays!) · And last but not least, a day on us to live by our values!
