The Commercial Director will own the development and execution of commercial strategies that drive sustainable revenue growth, market expansion, and profitability. You will lead our sales and business development activities, build strategic partnerships, and ensure our commercial function operates with excellence and alignment to Intellegens’ growth ambitions.
This is a leadership role for a commercially astute, hands-on strategist who can translate high-level objectives into actionable plans and inspire a team to deliver results.
Role Purpose
The Commercial Director will own the development and execution of commercial strategies that drive sustainable revenue growth, market expansion, and profitability. You will lead our sales and business development activities, build strategic partnerships, and ensure our commercial function operates with excellence and alignment to Intellegens’ growth ambitions.
This is a leadership role for a commercially astute, hands-on strategist who can translate high-level objectives into actionable plans and inspire a team to deliver results.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic leadership– Develop and implement a commercial strategy aligned with company objectives, ensuring consistent growth in target markets.
* Revenue growth– Identify, secure, and expand high-value customer relationships in the B2B SaaS and R&D sectors.
* Market development– Analyse market trends, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities to shape go-to-market plans.
* Team leadership– Lead, coach, and develop the UK sales team to achieve ambitious revenue and pipeline targets.
* Partnerships & alliances– Establish and nurture relationships with industry bodies, technology partners, and key stakeholders.
* Commercial governance– Manage budgets, forecasts, and KPIs; ensure compliance with relevant legal and contractual obligations.
* Customer advocacy– Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, ensuring Intellegens remains a preferred partner.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven track record in senior commercial leadership within aB2B SaaSenvironment.
* Experience inR&D-driven sectorssuch as materials, chemicals, or formulations.
* Demonstrated success in creating and executing high-impact commercial strategies.
* Ability to build and maintain strategic, senior-level client and partner relationships.
* Strong leadership capability — able to inspire, influence, and develop high-performing teams.
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex propositions for diverse audiences.
* Solid understanding of relevant commercial, contractual, and regulatory frameworks.
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Exposure tomachine learning softwareor data-driven technology products.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
* Degree in business, commercial management, or related discipline.
