Dental Nurse

Main duties of the job
As the qualified dental nurse you will assist the clinician in all dental procedures, providing support and advice to the patient in the oral surgery department. You will demonstrate compliance with the responsibilities and registration to practice with the General Dental Council.
Job responsibilities
You will work as part of a team providing a high level of clinical care within the Oral Surgery Service.
About us
We provide hospital services from two acute sites – Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients\ homes.

Statutory Registration
* GDC Registration of Dental Nurses
* Evidence of PDP and continuous education
Qualifications
* NEBDN National Diploma in Dental Nursing
* Minimum of 4 GCSEs
* Verifiable Professional Development hours
* Experience of assisting in oral surgery procedures
Experience
* Supervising of junior dental nurses
Special Skills & Knowledge
* Knowledge of all dental procedures
* Assisting the dental officer in all clinical dental procedures
* Dealing effectively with medically compromised patients

Salary: £27,485 to £30,162 per annum (Pro Rata where applicable)
