Wright Engineering are seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team and support the delivery of mechanical engineering scopes across live projects and bid activities.

Role Overview
The role will work closely with Project Managers, Bid Managers, and senior engineers, providing technical engineering support throughout the project lifecycle - from early FEED and tender development through to detailed design support and supplier coordination.
This is an office-based, white-collar engineering role, well suited to an early-to-intermediate career engineer looking to develop strong technical foundations in bulk material handling and heavy industrial engineering, with a clear progression pathway as experience grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical engineering support to Project Managers on live projects and Bid Managers at tender and FEED stage.
- Assist in the development of mechanical scopes, layouts, and technical deliverables.
- Support the design and engineering of bulk material handling systems, including conveyors, silos, hoppers, bucket elevators, and associated equipment.
- Carry out and support mechanical calculations, design checks, and technical evaluations under guidance from senior engineers.
- Review and coordinate supplier technical information, drawings, and datasheets.
- Support the preparation of engineering documentation, including reports, schedules, registers, and technical submissions.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve technical queries.
- Assist with cost estimates and technical input during tender submissions.
- Attend occasional site visits within the UK to support project delivery.
About You
We would like to hear from candidates who have:
- A degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience working in a professional, office-based engineering environment (advantageous but not essential).
- An interest in mechanical systems, bulk material handling, and heavy industrial engineering.
- The ability to communicate technical information clearly and confidently.
- A structured, logical approach to problem solving.
- Confidence working with Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Experience using AutoCAD 2D.
- Exposure to 3D CAD software (advantageous but not essential).
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally for site visits.
Development & Progression
This role is intended as an entry-to-intermediate level position with a clear development pathway. As experience and capability grow, the role will progress to a Mechanical Engineer position.
