Directorate: Chief ExecutivesHours: a week Contract Type: Permanent Location: The Council House We are looking for a highly motivated and suitably qualified lawyer for this important post. As a member of our busy legal team, your main area of work will be advising and representing Adult Social Care in all aspects of community care and mental health law including Court of Protection proceedings. You will also advise Children’s Services in respect of Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children. You will be expected to undertake your own advocacy in the local courts and demonstrate a strong technical knowledge of civil litigation, including Judicial Review. We offer flexible working and the opportunity to carry a varied and stimulating caseload. You: • are a Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with rights of audience; • have good, recent advocacy, drafting and negotiation experience; • are a good communicator; • can work on your own initiative and as part of a team; • give clear, practical advice; • have recent experience of working within a legal setting; • are a flexible team member, and; • can provide evidence of managing your own caseload and meeting deadlines.
