You will play a key role in developing and delivering high-quality urban design and masterplanning outputs, contributing creatively from concept through to detailed design stages. Our work includes conceptual urban design, feasibility studies, masterplanning frameworks, vision documents, Design and Access Statements and other supporting design material.
Senior candidates will be expected to demonstrate a higher level of independence, confidence in design decision‑making, and the ability to help guide junior team members and contribute to project coordination.
About you
* A degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Planning or a related discipline
* Relevant professional experience within an urban design, masterplanning or multidisciplinary practice
* Confidence using AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator)
* Experience producing well‑considered design, graphic and written outputs for planning or client‑facing documents
What will really help you stand out is your ability to bring:
* A positive, imaginative and proactive approach to design and problem‑solving
* Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage tasks across multiple projects
* Clear and confident communication skills – verbally, visually and in writing
* A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working as part of a multidisciplinary team
* For Senior Urban Designers: the confidence to contribute to mentoring, reviews and the wider development of the team
Location and hours
Due to our rural location in Ashwell (SG7 5NT) and the need to undertake site visits, candidates will need a full UK driving licence or be actively learning to drive.
This is a full‑time, Monday–Friday position, with hybrid and part‑time working options available following successful completion of probation. Hours and working patterns can be discussed.
