Senior Communications Manager
Exclusive opportunity for an experienced Senior Communications Manager to join a global financial services firm on a 6 month FTC.
The Senior Communications Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the organisation’s communications strategy, ensuring clear, consistent, and impactful messaging across internal and external audiences.
Hybrid working: 3 days in City of London office, 2 from home
Roles & responsibilities:
* Lead the development and delivery of strategic communication plans that enhance corporate reputation, support business objectives, and engage key internal and external audiences.
* Provide trusted strategic counsel to senior leaders and executive teams on communications strategy, reputation management, and stakeholder engagement.
* Shape and manage the organisation’s strategic narrative, ensuring consistent, compliant, and values-led messaging across all channels and audiences.
* Act as communications lead on major business initiatives and transformation programmes, delivering clear, timely, and engaging content that drives understanding and alignment.
* Oversee the creation and execution of multi-channel campaigns (digital, media, internal, social) that promote the organisation’s priorities and culture.
* Manage corporate announcements, issues, and media activity, ensuring reputational risk is identified and managed proactively.
* Work closely with Risk, Compliance, HR, Legal and Marketing to ensure communications adhere to regulatory standards (including PRA and FCA requirements).
* Commission and produce high-quality written materials, including press releases, leadership communications, speeches, intranet content, and Q&As, tailored to specific audiences.
* Use data, analytics, and stakeholder feedback to evaluate communications impact and inform continuous improvement.
* Act as a brand and tone-of-voice guardian, ensuring professionalism, accuracy, and consistency in all corporate communications.
Skills & experience:
* Extensive experience in corporate and internal communications within a complex, regulated financial services or professional services environment.
* Proven ability to develop and deliver strategic communications that drive engagement and protect organisational reputation.
* Skilled at advising and influencing senior executives, with strong judgement and political awareness.
* Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling ability, with attention to clarity, tone, and detail.
* Strong understanding of regulatory and reputational considerations, including PRA and FCA standards.
* Confident in managing media and issues response, balancing opportunity and risk.
* Experienced in delivering multi-channel communications, including digital, internal, and social platforms.
* Highly organised, calm under pressure, and adept at managing competing priorities and tight deadlines.
* Collaborative, credible, and comfortable operating at senior level.
