Detailed job description and main responsibilities First line on call is provided by SpR or staff grade radiologists until 10pm weekdays and 5pm weekends with on call outsourced to a reporting company overnight. Our General Radiology consultant team is responsible for checking scans the following day to ensure quality assurance and education on a 1 in 8 rota. Daytime cover is also provided for a Malignant cord compression MRI at weekends on the same 1 in 8 rota. Please refer to the job description attached. Person specification Qualification & Registration Essential criteria MB BS or equivalent Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists Full Registration with licence to practise with GMC Desirable criteria MD or equivalent Other higher degree or diploma Training and experience Essential criteria Wide experience of all aspects of radiology including multislice CT and MRI Desirable criteria Fellowship in a specialist area of Radiology. To demonstrate expert practice in the field of Breast Imaging, including reporting of mammograms, undertaking and reporting of breast ultrasound images, performing stereotactic and other breast biopsies, as well as fine needle aspiration of breast tissue and guided localisation procedures. To take an active role in Breast MDM's and breast service meetings. Administration & Management Essential criteria Experience in day to day organisation of radiology services in a busy DGH radiology department. Leadership skills Familiar with and committed to the principles of Clinical Governance, risk assessment, adverse incident recording and appraisal.
