I’m working exclusively with a residential developer to appoint a Head of Construction. This is an opportunity to take ownership of construction delivery across a significant and expanding pipeline of residential schemes.
The business has a strong track record in delivering high-quality homes and is now scaling its delivery platform, with a strategic focus on timber frame construction. Backed by long-term investment, the company is moving from a founder-led delivery model to a more structured senior leadership team.
This role will sit at the top of the construction function and act as the senior operational lead for build delivery, working closely with the Managing Director.
The Role
As Head of Construction, you’ll have end-to-end responsibility for construction delivery across multiple live and forthcoming residential developments.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading construction delivery from groundworks through timber frame erection to completion.
* Building, managing, and developing site teams, including the recruitment of timber-frame-experienced Site Managers.
* Owning programme, sequencing, and site performance across a multi-site portfolio.
* Working closely with Technical, Commercial, and Sales teams to ensure coordinated delivery.
* Signing off tender lists and supporting cost control and value engineering.
* Ensuring sites are fully prepared for construction, including utilities, access, and logistics.
* Embedding quality, sustainability, and programme discipline across all schemes.
What They’re Looking For
* Senior construction experience within a residential housebuilder or developer.
* Strong exposure to timber frame residential construction.
* Background as a Contracts Manager, Construction Manager, or Construction Director ready for a broader leadership role.
* Proven ability to manage multiple sites and teams simultaneously.
* Commercially aware, delivery-focused, and comfortable operating in a growing business environment.
