The Senior Mechanical Engineer EMEA will lead regional engineering teams in the construction, testing, commissioning, management and operation of their mechanical and cooling infrastructures. They will provide consistent regular reporting of the condition and efficiency of the countries mechanical and cooling systems, identifying any areas for improvement.
Your responsibilities
* Lead the EMEA team in defining and implementing our Tech-Ops standards and will ensure that the mechanical infrastructures are effectively tested, commissioned, maintained, and optimised
* Schedule regular face to face meetings with the regional team to discuss operational performance of mechanical infrastructure, to address any infrastructure issues and concerns relating to plant condition and operational activities and report accordingly
* In conjunction with our Tech-Ops team, regularly review and develop commissioning procedures. They will participate in subcontractor plans for commissioning and qualification activities and will define deliverables, roles, and responsibilities for the testing, commissioning, and hand over of the assets and facilities.
* In conjunction with the EMEA Training Manager and our Tech-Ops team, instruct other personnel in the operation of Mechanical & Cooling infrastructure and address any gaps in the knowledge of operation by personnel or of any deficiencies or abnormalities in the operating procedures.
* Ensure mechanical & cooling systems are efficiently optimised to meet expected performance requirements and support the regional team in creating energy business cases for infrastructure change
* Carry out regular tours of the regional facilities to inspect local conformance to our standards and ensure mechanical & cooling infrastructure is being kept in a satisfactory and optimised condition
* Attend any internal or external quality related audits as SME
* Develop realistic plans, set goals, align plans with our Tech-Ops objectives and coordinates with others team members
Your profile
* Serveral years of experience working in mission critical mechanical environment within a large company, IT/Telecoms industry preferred or M&E consultancy
* Several years of experience in leading a technical management function
* Experience in data centers or a similar environment is considered a significant advantage though not essential this will be a key consideration should multiple candidates be assessed for suitability
* Subject matter experts understanding of operational and maintenance governance principles
* Experience of working in a European multi-cultural environment
* Working Knowledge of Plan Do Check Act (Deming cycle) highly desirable
* Awareness of Root Cause Analysis management frameworks highly desirable
* Recognised European Health and Safety Qualification highly desirable
* A strategic thinking individual with a structured and target-oriented approach
* Demonstrable skills in technical management, and collaboration
* Be able to write and present technical papers to a wide team of operational engineers
* Proficient in English language both written and verbal
* Second European language written and verbal desirable
