HR Advisor

Location: Woodford Halse

Job Type: Full-Time

Department: Human Resources

Reports to: HR Manager


Job Summary

As an HR Advisor, you will play a key role in delivering effective HR services and support across the business. You will provide expert advice to managers and employees on a range of HR issues, including employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and HR best practices. This role is ideal for a hands‑on, detail‑oriented professional with strong communication and problem‑solving skills.


Key Responsibilities

* Advise managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation
* Manage HR queries timely and effectively
* Monitoring and maintaining absence records, identifying trends or areas of concern
* Co‑ordination of staff changes in pay and conditions and leavers administration, including conducting exit interviews
* Management of employee benefits schemes, to include pension, health insurance and commission/bonus arrangements
* Manage employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, and absence matters
* Support the implementation of HR initiatives and strategic goals
* Coordinate performance management processes and provide coaching where necessary
* Assist with HR reporting, data analysis, and compliance tracking
* Support the end‑to‑end recruitment process including drafting job descriptions, shortlisting, assisting with interviews, offer letters and promoting a positive onboarding process
* Support the delivery of learning and development activities
* Contribute to the development and improvement of HR policies and procedures
* Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data confidentiality
* Contribute to HR projects and initiatives such as employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, and wellbeing programmes
* Promote a positive workplace culture aligned with company value
* A proactive can‑do attitude, identifying opportunities for change and business improvement


Required Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
* Minimum of 3-4 years in an HR advisory or generalist role
* Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships
* Strong organisational and time‑management skills
* Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professional
* Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite


Preferred Qualifications

* CIPD Level 5 (or working towards)
* Coaching and mediation experience
* Experience in a fast‑paced or high‑growth environment
